It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of Dennis Loren, one of Moonalice’s beloved and longtime poster artists. Dennis left us on May 18, 2026, leaving behind an extraordinary legacy in the world of music and art.
Born in Detroit in 1946, Dennis began creating concert posters in 1967 with designs for legends like Muddy Waters, The Youngbloods, and Jimi Hendrix. Over more than five decades, his distinctive, soulful artwork graced album covers, tour merch, and posters for icons including Frank Zappa, Brian Wilson, Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, Jefferson Starship, Big Brother & the Holding Company, The White Stripes, and so many more.
For Moonalice, Dennis became a cherished collaborator and friend, designing dozens of posters that captured the band’s spirit, the joy of live music, and the psychedelic counterculture vibe that connected generations. His work for our 420 Gatherings of the Tribe, Red Dog Saloon shows, and countless other nights will forever be part of the Moonalice story.
Dennis was a master storyteller through his art — warm, witty, and deeply human. He brought history, heart, and a touch of magic to every piece. Those of us lucky enough to work with him will always remember his kindness, his passion for music, and his quiet genius.
Rest in peace, Dennis. Thank you for the beautiful visions you shared with the world. Your posters will continue to inspire and bring people together for years to come. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and everyone whose life he touched through his art. ~ Moonalice
